Chronic Kidney Disease Slowed Using Bicarbonate of Soda

Three years ago, British Scientists working at the Royal London Hospital in the United Kingdom, discovered while working on a research program that chronic kidney disease could be dramatically slowed with the use of nothing simpler than aluminum free bicarbonate of soda. The same old bicarbonate of soda that has been used for many years around the home for a variety of different cleaning jobs.
These findings were first published in the American Society of Nephrology Journal, back in July 2009. Three years on since that 2009 announcement date, it is still being hailed as one of greatest modern-day discoveries in the treatment of chronic kidney disease, and where doctors have continued to use it as a treatment for the disease with a considerable amount of success.
When used, it acts like a natural chemotherapy treatment in patients by instantly shifting the blood pH into the alkaline when taken orally, and has been used to treat various different types of cancers such as mouth, stomach, intestinal, prostate, rectal, and oral cancers (if not infiltrated), and has now found its place within the treatment of chronic kidney disease.
Magdi Yaqoob, Professor of Renal Medicine at the Royal London Hospital was quoted as saying, "It's amazing, with a simple remedy of bicarbonate of soda when used appropriately, can be very effective in the treatment of chronic kidney disease."
If used to treat chronic kidney disease, it prevents the need for the patient to be put on a dialysis machine. The UK's National Health Service (NHS) has estimated that by using bicarbonate of soda to treat chronic kidney disease, it could save around $45,000 dollars a year for each patient that is treated, and with nearly 40,000 patients treated every year, this could save the NHS 3% of its annual budget.
Research was based on the first ever controlled trials in a clinical setting, where 134 patients who suffered from either chronic kidney disease or metabolic acidosis, were given nothing more than a small daily dose together with their normal treatment. After a period of only one year, the trials showed a two third success rate over patients who had not been given the same daily dose.
The trial results are now considered to be the first major breakthrough for chronic kidney disease sufferers in many years. The results have also received a great amount of interest from other kidney disease treatment centres.
